A delightful itinerary, to savour and absorb without haste, in search of the architectural jewels and wines of Franciacorta, of its magnificent countryside whose sun-blassed, morainal hills roll gently out from Lake Iseo and march to Brescia, in Lombardy. Vineyard-clad hills, tiny, ancient borghi all of stone, medieval towers and castles, 16th century palaces, 17th and 18th century noble villas, where aristocratic Brescian families had their farming estates and summer residences, a land from time immemorial dedicated to the cultivation of the grapevine.
